Gacha giants like Honkai: Star Rail and Wuthering Waves earned $357 million in June
As Zenless Zone Zero emerges as the latest top contender in the gacha genre, it's an ideal time to review June’s biggest earners, from the reliable Genshin Impact to the new Wuthering Waves.
According to Sensor Tower data presented by GachaRevenue, the top 10 gacha games amassed a combined $357.4 million on mobile in June, with Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail leading the charge for HoYoverse.
Top Performers
Honkai: Star Rail was June’s top gacha earner with $93.5 million in global mobile revenue, maintaining its lead over Genshin Impact for the second consecutive month. Genshin Impact followed with $67.5 million, both games seeing increased earnings from May's $91 million and $53.3 million, respectively. These successes also placed them in the top 10 for Q1 mobile revenue across all genres.
Wuthering Waves, a new monster-collecting IP from Chinese developer Kuro Games, ranked third with $50.3 million in its first full month, following a strong debut in May.
Asian Dominance
Infold Games’ sci-fi dating sim Love and Deepspace earned $31 million, ranking fourth, though slightly down from May's $33.6 million. Tencent’s Naruto Mobile, the oldest title among the top five, generated $27.5 million, securing fifth place despite a drop from $49.5 million in May.
Chinese developers and publishers dominated the gacha genre, with all top five titles having links to the region. The trend continued with all top 10 earners developed in Asia, showcasing the East's mastery of the genre.
Netmarble’s Solo Levelling: Arise, Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball Legends, GungHo’s Puzzle & Dragons, Tencent’s Light and Night, and Aniplex’s Fate/Grand Order rounded out the top 10.
Zenless Zone Zero is poised to disrupt these rankings in July, with nearly $25 million earned in its first five days, indicating a new trophy for HoYoverse by the end of the month. Source: adapted from an article by Aaron Astle, News Editor for PocketGamer.biz.
