Clash Heroes returns as Supercell's new game, Project R.I.S.E.

Supercell has announced a new game via Twitter and YouTube, revealing it with a trailer that highlights its familiar roots. The trailer humorously acknowledges Supercell's habit of shelving in-progress games, showing the graves of previous titles like Clash Mini, Clash Quest, Gunshine, Hay Day Pop, Magic, and Battle Buddies.

The trailer begins with a call: “I got some bad news, man. We decided to kill Clash Heroes as well.” But it seems the news was premature...

From the ashes of Clash Heroes comes Project R.I.S.E.

The video features Julien le Cadre, the game lead on Project R.I.S.E, being interviewed by the project's community manager, Frame.

“Clash Heroes is dead,” le Cadre explains. “That’s the bad news. The good news is that Project R.I.S.E is still a Clash game. And the better news is that it’s now a multiplayer action-focused RPG."

Project R.I.S.E, a “social action RPG roguelite,” is set in the Clash universe and shares the art style and assets from Clash Heroes. However, “everything else was built from scratch,” assures le Cadre. Unlike Clash Heroes, which was strictly single-player, Project R.I.S.E is built with multiplayer in mind.

Instead of solo dungeon runs in ‘PvE’ gameplay, players team up with two others to explore a mysterious place known as ‘The Tower.’ Each session takes place on a different floor, with teams striving to climb as high as they can.
